Ted Kaczynski, the man known as the Unabomber, died on Saturday at the age of 81. Kaczynski was a former mathematics professor who carried out a 17-year bombing campaign against people he believed were advancing modern technology and the destruction of the natural environment. He was arrested in 1996 and pleaded guilty to four counts of murder and 16 counts of attempted murder. He was sentenced to four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole.
Kaczynski's death comes at a time when the world is increasingly divided over the role of technology in our lives. His legacy will continue to be debated for years to come.
