Liang Wenbo, a former world No. 11 snooker player, has been banned for life from the sport for match-fixing.
The 36-year-old Chinese player was found guilty of accepting £60,000 to deliberately lose a match at the 2017 English Open.
He is the first player to be banned for life for match-fixing since the WPBSA introduced new rules in 2014.
The WPBSA said in a statement: "The independent disciplinary commission has found Liang Wenbo guilty of multiple breaches of the WPBSA's anti-corruption rules.
"The commission has imposed a life ban on Liang Wenbo from all professional snooker."
Wenbo is the second Chinese player to be banned for match-fixing in recent months. In April, Yan Bingtao was banned for seven years and six months for his role in a betting scam.
The match-fixing scandal has rocked the snooker world and has raised serious questions about the integrity of the sport.
