China's first domestically produced passenger jet, the Comac C919, has entered commercial service. The plane, which is a narrow-body airliner, took off from Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Sunday and landed in Beijing Capital International Airport without incident.

The C919 is designed to compete with the Boeing 737 MAX and the Airbus A320neo. It has a range of 2,532 to 3,452 miles and can seat between 158 and 168 passengers, depending on the cabin configuration.

The C919's entry into service is a major milestone for China's aviation industry. It is the first time that China has developed a commercial jetliner that is capable of competing with the world's best.

The C919 has already received orders from over 200 customers, including China Eastern Airlines, Air China, and China Southern Airlines. The plane is expected to be a major player in the global commercial aviation market.

The C919's entry into service is a sign of China's growing economic and technological power. It is also a reminder of the increasing competition in the global commercial aviation market.
